Patience is a virtue

It's been a couple weeks now since we got this blog up and running, but this is only the second post on it. The reason for that is our fabulous vacation we took to England, Scotland and Germany.
At the end of April we flew to London and spent a couple of days exploring this wonderful city with all its great architecture and flair. Then we took the train up to Edinburgh and met up with some good friends of ours and spent a couple of days in Scotland. We were so impressed with everything. Scotland was everything we hoped for....beautiful green countryside, many old castles, lots of sheep, very nice Scottish people and of course the fog. We had a blast there! Before flying to Germany we went back to London for a couple more days and did some more sightseeing. It was the week before the Royal wedding and you could see all the preparations for the wedding take place.
Germany was just as great. We visited family and friends, ate great food and were able to relax on top of that. We had a great time at my mom's birthday party as well as my dad's.
While Dan had to fly back and go to work after a week, I was able to stay 3 more weeks in Germany. I really enjoyed that time with my family, but at the end I was glad to go home to Dan, Louie-my cute dog and of course my own bed. =)
Now we are back on schedule and going along with our daily lives.

Before we took the trip we got contacted by 2! birth-mom's right after our profile went online. We couldn't believe it and we were overwhelmed with such gratitude and excitement. To one of the birth-mom's we felt an instant connection and we emailed each-other often. It was so exciting to get her emails and to get to know her little by little. We couldn't believe our luck....a contact that fast?! Too good to be true?
While on vacation, we received an email from our caseworker that the birth-mom we were in contact with had chosen another couple to place her baby with. Wow, that felt like a knife in our heart. It's different from how you feel every month when you get your monthly visitor as an indication that you are not pregnant, but it is as painful. We feel that the birth-mom made the decision that was best for her baby, but it still hurt to not get picked.
The other contact didn't really go anywhere either, so we are back at the waiting game which is just as hard. We didn't even expected to have contacts that early, so we feel blessed already.

We know that there is a baby out there, which is suppose to come to our family at the time that is right for everyone. So we are hopeful, but our patience is being tested, yet again.
